Peer Review

We, the contributors to this blog, are all Christians (some more liberal than others) and some of us are scholars or aspiring scholars. So take a look at Slate's hot document for today and post your thoughts. Maybe we can get a heated argument going. That would warm things up for me in the cold and dreary northeast. I seriously doubt it will start an argument, I just think it's interesting and I haven't posted in a long time.

It's a weird world, man. Worldviews clashing. It's like when you're a kid, and you're certain that two puzzle pieces ought to fit together, and so you just try and mash 'em that way. Maybe you didn't do that.

A possible solution to this type of thing: each of us should, when we are professors, teach erudite and extremely popular courses on the purposes of myth in culture, and the nature of mythical truth. One student at a time. The literalist viewpoint will fade as the modern worldview fades, I think.
