Annapolis, MD
I hope you're all ready for the 2007 603 North Locust Conference. As agreed upon, this year's conference will be held in Annapolis, primarily at Everett and Melody's appartment, partially at their friends', and finally, wherever Steven and Jenny, if she comes, stay. Or maybe they're just driving down for the day. Reinhardt, I believe, will be delivering his paper on discourses of systematic power in the area of poured concrete front porches, I will be giving my paper on gardening traditions in backyards that are really too shady for it, and Taylor will present some paper on hootenannys, just with a really snappy title involving a colon. Kelly is worn out from doing her thesis and would like to be merely decorative.
Speaking of, Kelly's thesis is now sent to her committee. Huzzah! And I've finished 2 of 3 days of comps. The last two days have gone well. Only a few surprises. Tomorrow is my major area, and I think will mostly be managable. I've got a good idea on what 2 of the questions will be.
I realize this may be early, but any thoughts on next year's conference? Chicago? Tallahassee? New York? And I realize this one may be a bit out there, but Dothan? If we go for Chicago, it should be during baseball season.
See you Friday.

how about Berlin?
how about Berlin?
It was such a good idea that I said it twice.
I'm coming!! WOO HOO!! I'm so excited about this year's conference... can you tell?! See you all soon!
As long as Kelly is happy being merely decorative, I have no objections. Call me old-fashioned.
And you're all welcome to come to Berlin.
